Qi Gong
In the stillness, be like the pine.
In the movement, be like clouds and water...
- Qi Gong Proverb
Qi Gong it is the cultivation of qi (Energy). Qi Gong means energy work. Qi Gong practise
involves slow movements, standing position, the breathe, intention and focus, stimulating the
flow of qi in the body. It is often referred to as 'meditation in motion' and is a mindful practise.
This Ancient Art originated in China and is recommended in Chinese hospitals as part of recovery. There are many different styles of Qi Gong based on common principles, balance, relaxation, focused breathing, good posture, relaxed and flowing movements.
It is a low impact exercise, gentle and slow that does not force the body. It goes with the flow
of the body and is suitable for all ages and abilities - whether done seated or standing.
